First Presbyterian Church offers many activities during the week.
Call the church office to find out who to contact if you are interested
in one or more of these programs.
True Roots (Married Couples)
A small group Bible study for married couples. Every Wednesday
at 7:00 pm, the group meets for Bible study
at rotating houses. If you are interested in joining the Bible
Study, please call the church office for more information.
Morning
Circle (Women)
Study and fellowship for women during the morning hours. Morning
circle meets at 10 a.m. on the first Monday of each month.
Evening
Circle (Women)
Study and fellowship for women during the evening hours. Evening
circle meets at 7:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month.
WNGs - Wednesday Night Group (Women)
Study, discussion, prayer, and service. Meets weekly in various
homes. The first Wednesday of the month we meet early to work in
the church library. Discussions center around Bible study and Christian
books. We also pray for each other and for our congregational community.
During Advent 2002, we will explore the Old Testament prophecies
that point to the birth of Jesus. We have applied our WNG acronym
to the scripture from Isaiah: "...they that wait upon the Lord
shall renew their strength...they shall mount up with wings
as eagles..." Call the church for locations.
Sewing Group (Women)
This group makes large quilts for the International Institute
to be given to new citizens, and small quilts for the Linus Project
which provides them to sick babies and children. In 2005 the group
gave four large quilts and 10 small ones. They meet the first Friday
of the month in Room 206 from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon. All women
of the church are welcome.
Men's
Fellowship Breakfast
Breakfast, Bible study, discussion, and prayer. Meets every Wednesday
at 6:30 a.m. at Country Kitchen on East Market Street.
Thursday Morning Men's Group
Meets every Thursday at 6:30 a.m. On the first Thursday of the month,
the group meets for breakfast.
On all other Thursdays, there is study and fellowship in Dr. Ruppert's
office at the church.
Tuesday
Club (Seniors)
Lunch and fellowship for retired members and friends. Meets the
third Tuesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. at area restaurants. Call
the church for locations.
Entertainment
Group
Fellowship and dinner out. Meets first Wednesday of the month
at 7 p.m. at an area restaurant. Many of the restaurants have coupons
in the Entertainment book. Call the church for locations.
